Stephanie Graegin a passé son enfance à dessiner et à collectionner la faune à Fort Wayne, dans l’Indiana et à Houston, au Texas. Elle a obtenu son baccalauréat en beaux-arts du Maryland Institute College of Art à Baltimore, Maryland. Elle a ensuite fréquenté le Pratt Institute à Brooklyn, New York, où elle a obtenu une maîtrise en beaux-arts en gravure. Stephanie vit maintenant à Brooklyn, New York, où elle écrit et illustre des livres pour enfants.
